Was out of town this weekend and got some detecting in. On Saturday I stopped at a fairgrounds location and hunted for about 3 hours. Got 2 Mercs - 1931S and 1941, 5 Indians - 1865, 1893, 1896, 1897 and 1900 plus 4 wheaties.
Next stop was another fairgrounds location that is now a cornfield. Place has been heavily detected for the past 40 years but will still give up a few coins. Hunted for about an hour and got a toasted shield nickel. Fertilizer had eaten off the date but I can tell it is a "with rays" variety so it is either an 1866 or 1867.
Stopped back at the first location for a couple of hours this morning and got two more Indians - 1888 and 1896 plus 5 wheaties.
I'm pretty happy about the 1931S Merc. First 1931 Merc I have ever found.
