Had to urge to dig some holes, so ran up the road to an old one room school house that the grass had been cut at. Unfortunately, even though the grass is cut, it is still about 4-5 inches. Have managed about 30 wheaties from here so far and today managed to finaly pull a silver out. Have yet to find anything real old, but it is a nice go to place that is close by. :)

Nice nice nice....I love the Buffalo Nickels. What's the date on it? Also the dime and wheaties. Any key or semi key dates in there? Could be a half in that field if you could get the grass cut closer or plowed. :)

Keith, the nickel is 1935, the merc was 1940. The wheaties were 40's & 50's. I wish they would turn it over, but I don't think that will ever happen. It is a nice standby spot for a quick hunt. There has to be a few old ones hiding, but they will be hard to find. Ground is rock hard also. Hands were killing me this morning. :)

Must not be much bad stuff in that ground. Seems to have been pretty nice to those coins. By the way I found out who the farmer is at that spot we want to hunt with Guy and got his number.

Sounds good. I'll keep up on the seated field. The beans are slowly starting to turn. :woohoo:

One of these days you will get a good soaking rain and it will be a lot easier to hunt. I'm with Keith, there has to be a half there somewhere.
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
