Thanks Keith! Haven't been able to hunt much lately. All my fields are full of crops, and just haven't been to the beach much due to work. I hit a 22K ring a few weeks ago that I posted on beachhunting.net as well. Check it out when you get a chance.

Happy Hunting!

Awsome gold ring!!! What machine do you use, a water machine? How often do you water hunt? I have just got into water hunting this year and very intrusted. Hunting in surf has got to be tuff..?

Lets see...I use a Minelab Excal II as my main water machine, but also have a Garrett Infinium and a Garrett AT Pro. I use the Minelab almost exclusively though during the summer, and will use the infinium more in the winter time when the targets are fewer. The AT Pro doesn't work well in the wet sand and surf, so I only use that for fresh water.

How often do I water hunt. During the summer, that's the only detecting I get done. I have thurs/fri/sat off right now each week, so I try to get out each of those days if the weather cooperates. I probably average 1-2 times week though.

Surf hunting is tough for sure, but can be very rewarding. Less competition in the waves than the wet sand and dry. But you have to work for it. It seems like when the sweet gold tone comes through the headphones, that's when the surf gods get angry and pound you with waves bigger and more frequent than any before the tone. But persistence pays off in the end sometimes and you get that sweet gold in the scoop!!!

Happy Hunting & Good Luck!
